Trail Ride

The bonuses to biking includes physical health benefits, mental health benefits, and an almost guaranteed broadening of your social circle – they are as numerous as the beautiful trails we find in our city and county.

If you like bicycling or are thinking about taking up the sport, tune up your bike, fill up your water bottle and join us on Tuesday June 28 at 9 am and ride with us from the trailhead (parking lot) in West Brantford to the Windmill in Mt. Pleasant. There will be two groups of bikers. The one group will take a leisurely ride to the Windmill (8 km averaging about 10 km/hr) for fellowship and some shopping. The second group is for those who would like to bike a little faster and go a little further than Mt. Pleasant (14 km averaging about18 km/hr) and then return to the Windmill to meet the first group. We will then bike back to the trailhead in West Brantford. John Gilson & Herb Grootenboer will lead the groups. We should be back to our vehicles by 11 am at the latest. Those who sign up will be given full details on where we will meet, etc. Please email Herb or John if you are interested in joining one of these invigorating and exhilarating groups and which group you would prefer to be in.

Good Ol' Country Gospel

We are planning an event for all seniors 55+ to attend a Country Gospel Concert at the Hamilton Family Theatre in Cambridge (46 Grand Ave. S., Cambridge, Ontario). The Cambridge theatre is a beautiful theatre named the Hamilton Family Theatre after a prominent Cambridge family whose surname is Hamilton. Here are the details of the concert: Let your spirit soar as some of the most memorable melodies ever written come alive on stage in this inspirational musical tribute to the best of Gospel … with a country twist. Featuring wonderful arrangements and uplifting voices, this inspirational celebration shines a new light on all your sacred favourites including "Amazing Grace", "I’ll Fly Away", "Peace in the Valley", "How Great Thou Art", "When The Saints Go Marching In", "Will the Circle Be Unbroken", "Saw the Light" and many more. From soul-stirring ballads to high-energy songs of praise, you won't want to miss this heartfelt tribute to the beloved canon of Gospel hits.

The cost of lunch, while reasonable, is at your expense.

Country Gospel Concert: 2 pm. Cost of Concert for a group of 20 or more, is only $48.59 per person including tax. The single ticket price is $60 so this is a good discount. We need to sign up at least 21 people to make this a go. We realize this is early but we needed to reserve early, as seats were already filling up. We have reserved 21 seats in the first row in the balcony for a perfect unobstructed view of the stage (accessible by elevator if needed).

You do not have to pay now. We realize this is early but we needed to reserve early, as seats were already filling up. We just need to know at this time who would like to attend.
