A Friend
We all have someone in our life
Someone we call a dear friend
A special person in many ways
One on whom we can depend.
A true friend is helpful
Will hear the words we say
Yet, listens with their heart
Never hesitates to pause and pray.
A friend is there in time of need
Always has the right words to say
Never doubts you when others do
Lends a helping hand night or day.
A friend is quick to give a smile
Always forgives when things go wrong
Never forgets to say "thank you"
When you grieve, that friend is strong.
A friend shares joys and sorrows
Always remembers special days
Will always have time for you
Reminds you gently to give God praise.
A friend pardons your mistakes
Will lift you up when you're sad
Never holds a grudge against you
Rejoices with you when you're glad.
There is a Friend everyone needs
His Name is Jesus...we all should know
He is with us wherever we are
Praise Him daily as blessings flow.

Just Want To Thank You, Lord
I come to You this morning, Lord
There's nothing to ask You to do
In all things I need, You provide
So Lord, I just want to thank You.
Thank You for the sunshine today
The birds praise You with their song
It helps to bring cheer in my life
I almost forget things that are wrong.
Thank You for the cloudy skies too
Thank You for the times of rain
I think of Your tears at Calvary
I'm reminded of Your hours of pain.
Thank You for family and friends
I often take them for granted, Lord
You have blessed my life abundantly
Thank You for Your Love and Holy Word.
Thank You for Your forgiveness to me
It's just so easy to drift into sin
I'm sorry for those who reject You
Yet, You forgive again and again.
Thank You for every blessing given
Thank You for every favor too
I find there's nothing I need today
So Lord, I just want to thank You.
I pray in the Name of Jesus.
~ Amen ~

Prayer
Sometimes I wander and stray
I've found there's pleasure in sin
Then I return to You because...
Even though I try, I just can't win.
I see others living deep in sin
Yet, it is just not right for me
I thank You for protecting my life
It's in Your presence I need to be.
Guide me, Lord, this new day
Let me do only what is right
Keep me safe as You lead me on
Let my praise be right in Your sight.
Help me, Lord, to live for You
Use my life for Your service today
Bless those who have blessed me
Thank You, for teaching me to pray.
Guide me, Lord, and whisper Your love
Keep me safe from all evil snares
Lead me to do Your will every day
Direct my path and all my prayers.

Grains Of Sand
Walking on the white sandy beach
Trying to count the grains of sand
Grains so small and I wondered why
Yet, only a loving God can understand.
Sin creeps slowly into our busy life
Things appear innocent and before long
Those small grains of sand at the beach
Are teaching us...right from wrong.
There's boulders and trials to trouble us
We sometimes stumble on our way
Then Jesus comes to rescue and save
He calms our feet before we go astray.
Those grains of sand are like our sins
God, in His Wisdom, sees them all
As thorns prick and are hidden well
He forgives us...if on Him we call.
We cannot hide anything from God
He sees every temptation of sin
He knows our flesh is weak and fragile
He heals the troubled heart within.
The grains of sand there on the beach
Are washed clean by the ocean waves
It's time for us now to fully realize
Only the Blood of Jesus still Saves.

On Life's Sea
While drifting on the storm tossed sea
We are never left alone or forsaken
Even though weary of life's troubles
God is there on every path we've taken.
Waves toss us about in the long night
Fear troubles our heart deep within
We must keep our eyes always on Jesus
He guides us safe with Victory to win.
The lights are bright on the distant shore
Keeping the Finish Line within our view
Jesus brings us safely through every time
Clear and fresh as the morning dew.
God wants to use us for His Glory
So, let's not falter on our way
Even when burdens and sorrows come
Don't forget to be humble and pray.
The angry waves cover the wet rocks
Those howling winds toss us about
Jesus is with us through every storm
His love surrounds us to bring us out.
If we stay close to our Savior
He will protect us with His power
He calms every troubled heart
Safely guiding us every hour.

Soar As An Eagle
When trials rise up against you
Think of Jesus there on the cross
He endured suffering and pain
Yet, His death was not a loss.
He never murmured or complained
It was God's will for Him to forgive
Someday, we'll rise to an upward flight
A place in Heaven to forever live.
When rejected by those you love
Remember Jesus...He was rejected too
He will help you stand the test
He will bring you safely through.
Birds fly together for support
The Eagle soars and flies alone
Jesus is with us wherever we are
All things to Him...are known.
Forgive others who do you wrong
Forgive and let go of all that's past
God is watching from His Throne above
Trials in your life will not always last.
Soar as an Eagle to greater height
God will help you conquer all fear
Lean on Him and humbly pray
Just remember...He is always near.

The Promised Land
There is a land...a promised Land
Far away from this earths view
Somewhere on Heaven's strand
We'll be there when life is through.
One thief on the cross was forgiven
He asked Jesus to remember him
The other thief sadly missed Heaven
His eyes of doubt and faith were dim.
There will be joy in the promised Land
We'll be free from all grief and pain
We'll sing with the Angel band
Oh! the reunion with loved ones again.
There will be peace in that Land
Wars will never be known anymore
We will praise Jesus forever there
Hallelujah's will ring on Heaven's shore.
Love will rule and reign in that Land
Because Jesus, our Savior, is there
There's strength when we hold His hand
Someday, we'll have a crown to wear.
Our trials and burdens will be over
On the Solid Rock...we will stand
Children will run in fields of clover
Let's plan to meet in the Promised Land.

Pause To Meditate
Do you ever pause for a moment
To think what it will be like someday
For your eyes to close in death
Then open them to see Jesus and stay?
It is appointed for us all to die
We know not when that time will be
This life is to prepare us to live
It will be Heaven or hell for Eternity.
We walk by faith and not by sight
God asks that we believe and obey
Do not ever doubt what God can do
Trust in Him and don't forget to pray.
The story of our life is being written
Every deed and motive He will know
The Books will be open of good and bad
Do what is right and watch blessings flow.
Do not be careless with your soul
It is forever precious in God's sight
He had a plan when He gave you life
Obey His Word and do what is right.
Just pause for a moment to meditate
Think what it will be like in Heaven
Meeting Jesus and the loved ones again
Oh! To rejoice with all sins forgiven.

God Does Not Forget
Sometimes we become so busy
We tend to forget about God
Yet, He never forgets about us
From birth 'til laid beneath the sod.
Sometimes, it seems God is far away
We tend to believe He forgets us
Yet, He is close as a whispered prayer
All we need to do...is trust.
Sometimes, we do things without Him
We tend to want our own way
Yet, God still keeps watch over us
He knows if we neglect to pray.
Sometimes, temptations lure us
We tend to forget God forbids sin
Yet, He loves us and grants pardon
He forgives...over and over again.
Sometimes, we stumble or fall
We tend to remember God...then
Yet, He has never failed us
He knows and restores once again.
God has never forgotten us
He remembers when we stray
He patiently waits for our return
He will never turn us away.

God's Sunset
As the sun goes down in the West
God paints the sky as no Artist can
Colors of magnificent beauty prove
Sunsets amaze us of His great plan.
A sunset gives us just a glimpse
Of beauty in Heaven to forever last
Clean your slate before the day ends
God takes problems...let go of the past.
The sunset quickly fades into night
Darkness covers the earth once again
God watches over you and even me
He watches the sparrow and wren.
Every sunset has exquisite beauty
Pause from the busy day to watch God...
Feel His presence and then rejoice
While on this life's journey you trod.
There is no sunset made by man
It's God's creation for our pleasure
Meditate and then capture the beauty
Every sunset is a wonderful treasure.
