Leona's Poems - Page 4

It seems there are problems and worries each day,
We would sink in despair without Jesus;
He gave us an example and the need to pray,
He claims our trials if in Him we trust.
Jesus comforts us each time we grieve,
He hears each groan when we are in pain;
He has promised us to never leave,
He bears each burden for our gain.
Jesus has been down the road of sorrow,
He traveled the way and waits to help us;
He gives Hope for each new tomorrow,
The Way ~ The Truth ~ The Life...is Jesus.
We may stumble as we go our way,
Jesus is watching to see how we do;
He asks us to pause and take time to pray,
Trials and tests are for our faith to renew.
Jesus is all we will ever need in our life,
If in Him we will place our trust;
It does us no good to make complaints,
Just breathe a whisper of His Name...Jesus!
We must keep our eyes focused on Jesus,
He loves us and will carry us through;
He is coming again someday for us,
He is Faithful ~ His Word is forever true.
Follow...trust...be prepared to meet Jesus,
Every knee will bow ~ every tongue will confess;
Jesus is King and Lord for all of us,
If we're ready to go ~ our soul will find rest.

God made this day while I was sleeping,
I'm to make a choice whom I'll serve today;
There is No Charge for this great gift,
Before I leave my room, I need to pray.
God will watch over me again today,
He will guide and guard each step I take;
He protects and gives me His blessings,
It's proven to me ~ He never makes a mistake.
When I have a heavy weight to carry,
He comes and carries the burden for me;
If I have tears to fall ~ He is there,
In His presence is where I love to be.
He is with me in the sunshine or shadows,
It matters not where I am or where I go;
There is No Charge for all He does for me,
He is a Wonderful God to serve and know.
Someday, His Glorious face I shall see,
He is a God I love and adore;
I'll Worship and Praise Him ~ then Rejoice,
To be with Him, forever, on Heaven's shore.

Trials in life may appear as a mountain,
It's difficult, sometimes, to find our way;
We climb each day even though it's steep,
We must not let our feet go astray.
We find it's the pebbles under our feet,
Those little stones cause us to stumble;
We are weary and almost give in to defeat,
Then Jesus rescues us and we become humble.
Praise God for those who pray for us,
Those faithful few who love us still;
Think of Jesus and all He endured,
He will guide us if we live in His will.
We must break down every sin in our life,
Follow the path of good as Jesus had done;
Someday the books will be opened,
If ours are clean, Victory will be won.
Only what we do for Jesus while in this world,
Will forever last in Heaven above;
Climb each mountain and be faithful to God,
It will be a Glorious Home of peace, joy and love.

With one hundred sheep out on a hillside,
Peaceful and protected by the Shepherds care;
If one wanders away from the safety,
It will be alone...tempted for an evil snare.
The Shepherd will leave the ninety nine sheep,
Searching for the one that went astray;
There is a great value in the one that is lost,
Out on the hillside where it may lose its way.
When the Shepherd finds the sheep wandering,
Out on the hillside, quiet and serene;
Will lovingly bring the sheep back to safety,
To join the other sheep on the hillside green.
That is how it is with God's Love,
He protects and keeps us in His care;
If we go astray, He searches 'til we're found,
We would be "lost" without each prayer.
We may choose to wander in the night,
Only to find what brings heartache and tears;
Then the Shepherd comes to restore us again,
Healing and erasing our wounds and fears.
We must stay close to the Shepherd,
It's here, we are secure and in peace;
We receive comfort for all our needs,
Then someday, we will be where our
wanderings shall cease.
It will be Heaven...and Home.

A man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho,
He fell among thieves who left him near dead;
A priest came who saw the man but did not help,
He passed by ~ on the other side.
A Levite came by and looked at the man,
He too, passed by on the other side;
He was "too busy" to help and continued on,
He could see this man had not, yet, died.
A Samaritan, as he journeyed, stopped by,
He went to where the man was ~ love did shine;
He had compassion for the injured man,
Bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine.
The Samaritan set the man on his own beast
and he walked beside,
He took the man to an inn and cared for him;
The next day, the Samaritan prepared to go
his own way,
He gave some money to the host of the inn.
"Take care of him and I will then repay you,
When I come again, if more is needed"...
Of these three men, only "one" was a neighbor,
As Jesus would do, the Samaritan heeded.
The Good Samaritan had Love in his heart,
Jesus has said..."Go and do likewise"...
Do we help others in their time of need, or,
do we depart?
What will Jesus find in "us" ~ when He comes
from the skies?

Jesus is The Way,
He makes each path bright;
When dark shadows linger,
He is the Everlasting Light.
Jesus is The Way.
Jesus is The Truth,
Place all trust in Him;
His Word is faithful,
His promises turn us from sin.
Jesus is The Truth.
Jesus is The Life,
He Lives and is coming again;
Even if our way is weary,
He renews strength within.
Jesus is The Life.
If the way in life is dark,
If it seems there's no way;
When trials and burdens increase,
Pause...kneel to God and pray.
Be patient awhile longer,
Wait quietly on the Lord;
Lean on His promises,
Read and study His Divine Word.
Watch God work for you,
Keep your Faith strong;
Keep walking ~ Joy will return,
He turns sorrows into song.

Two little words of "Thank-you"
Why are they so hard to say?
Do we not say those two little words,
When to God we kneel and pray?
Two little words of "I'm sorry"
Are they, too, so hard to say?
Do we forget to say those two little words,
When to God we kneel and pray?
Two little words of "Forgive me"
Why must they be so hard to say?
Do we neglect to say those two little words,
When to God we kneel and pray?
God is watching and listening too,
Those two little words are often un-said;
He cares for us in each day that He gives,
Let's say those words and a soul will be fed.
I often think how Jesus must have felt,
When He healed the ten lepers that day;
Only one...then returned to thank Him,
The other nine went rejoicing on their way.
Jesus went about always doing Good,
He healed those who were in great need;
Let's do good as He did and tell someone
~ those two little words ~
And for someone...let's do a good deed.

I fell in love with Jesus ~ long ago,
While young in years and knew no sorrow;
I loved to sing and hear Stories of Jesus,
Looking forward to each new tomorrow.
I was still in love with Jesus my Saviour,
As a tender plant while in my youth;
I loved to read about His Good Life,
Always thankful to learn of the truth.
Middle-age years kept me quite busy,
I pressed on ~ still in love with Jesus;
Trusting to someday live with Him,
Loving Him and above all, to trust.
Now, as I advance to wiser years,
He loves me and is leading me still;
Trials, burdens and sorrows may come,
I'm in love with Jesus ~ I'll obey His will.
If aged years come for me some day,
I'll still obey Him ~ with Victory to win;
Then, when He calls me up Higher,
I'll be in love with Jesus all over again.
In Heaven, I will sing and praise Jesus,
His Divine Blood cleansed a sinner as me;
Still thankful to be in love with Jesus,
I'll love Him through all of Eternity.

In this world we have trials,
We may be troubled at dawn;
There may be illness or death, but
It will be better farther on.
Friends may reject or disown us,
We long for trials to be gone;
It hurts us, but we still endure,
It will be better farther on.
We may be lonely or with sorrow,
Our burdens here may not be won;
There may be pain to bear, but
It will be better farther on.
Things may trouble our mind,
From dawn 'til setting of the sun;
These trials will not forever last,
It will be better farther on.
Farther on...when this life is past,
We'll rest with Jesus...God's Son;
Heaven will be a Glorious Home,
It will be better...farther on.

I'm just like the sheep and have gone astray,
Wandering away from the Shepherd's care;
Often turning away to go my own careless way,
Those who love me, lift me up in prayer.
Then the Shepherd comes to search for me,
He will find me even though I may try to hide;
He turns me back again and so tenderly,
In His Love ~ I still may abide.
It's easy to drift in the dread sway of sin,
To then become tossed about to and fro;
But when Jesus calls, I will run to Him,
My Saviour died and loves me, I know.
The Lord is my Shepherd and knows my name,
I am thankful for His Love and tender care;
Every day given, Jesus is always the same,
He takes all my burdens and sins to bear.
The Shepherd leads me from the stony path,
I find I cannot make it in life on my own;
The enemy comes and pours out his wrath,
The Shepherd stays with me...I'm never alone.
